The Printmaking Academy
Magenta Sky was formed in 2003 to provide teaching in the art of printmaking to artists of all levels, from the complete beginner to the experienced printmaking artist. We specialise in teaching accessible printmaking techniques and therefore concentrate on the many ways of exploring the printmaking art without using a press. High quality printmaking tuition that can be practised with ease. |

In addition to our regular classes and workshops, we also teach the Introduction to Printmaking distance learning course for students worldwide, allowing anyone to learn the art of printmaking, wherever they are based, at home and in their own time.

Flexible Tuition and Support
As practising printmaking artists, we understand that every student needs to develop at their own pace, so both our classes and printmaking distance learning courses are carefully designed to reflect this.
Once enrolled, you will be assigned a personal tutor to answer any questions that you may have via telephone or email. We will help you get the most from your printmaking studies and to achieve the results that you want.

Susan’s print work has been exhibited throughout the UK through successful exhibitions such as "The Captured Image - Changing Faces, Changing Lives" at New Walk Museum and Art Gallery, Leicester. Her work is characterised by themes such as self-portraiture as an expression of the inner self and exploration of the cityscape as subject rather than setting. Individual works have been both loaned and sold throughout the UK and abroad. |

Flexible Study
The distance learning printmaking course allows you to learn the art of printmaking in a clear, logical manner and at a pace that suits you. The 12 study modules can be studied at home and will steadily progress both your printmaking knowledge and skill using the key printmaking techniques.
Personal Tuition
Just like being in one of our printmaking classes, you will have a dedicated tutor available to contact via telephone or email to answer any questions that you may have whilst studying the distance learning course.
Course Assessment and Certification (Optional)
There are several assignments set throughout the course which you can complete and submit for assessment. Students who complete all of the assessments to the required standard will receive a ‘Certificate of Achievement’.

Since the printmaking techniques that we teach do not require a printing press, there is no need to hire studio space or spend additional money on expensive printmaking tools.
In addition, we include a starter set of printmaking materials with your course package, so that you have everything you need to get started as a printmaking artist.
