‘Unique tuition in a unique art form’ is our teaching philosophy at Magenta Sky, developing the skill of our students and helping them to explore the world of printmaking to their fullest potential.

The Printmaking Academy

Magenta Sky was formed in 2003 to provide teaching in the art of printmaking to artists of all levels, from the complete beginner to the experienced printmaking artist. We specialise in teaching accessible printmaking techniques and therefore concentrate on the many ways of exploring the printmaking art without using a press.

In addition to our regular classes and workshops, we also teach the Introduction to Printmaking distance learning course for students worldwide, allowing anyone to learn the art of printmaking, wherever they are based, at home and in their own time.

Magenta Sky provides high quality printmaking courses, printmaking class workshops and art correspondence courses.

Flexible Tuition and Support

As practising printmaking artists, we understand that every student needs to develop at their own pace, so both our classes and printmaking distance learning courses are carefully designed to reflect this.

Once enrolled, you will be assigned a personal tutor to answer any questions that you may have via telephone or email. We will help you get the most from your printmaking studies and to achieve the results that you want.

Susan’s unique teaching style reflects a genuine passion for the often overlooked art of printmaking and whether studying in class or through the Introduction to Printmaking distance learning course, you will absorb the essence of her methods and approach to develop both your own technical skill and creativity as a printmaking artist.

All classes and courses are written by established printmaker, tutor and exhibiting printmaking artist Susan Yeates.

Susan formalised several years of fine art and printmaking activity in 2002 by achieving her BA (Hons) Fine Art (Printmaking) from Loughborough University.

Susan’s print work has been exhibited throughout the UK through successful exhibitions such as "The Captured Image - Changing Faces, Changing Lives" at New Walk Museum and Art Gallery, Leicester. Her work is characterised by themes such as self-portraiture as an expression of the inner self and exploration of the cityscape as subject rather than setting. Individual works have been both loaned and sold throughout the UK and abroad.
